i got my speedo cable free of the gauges, unhooked from the tranny, out of the hooks along the frame rail, and the rubber gasket out of the firewall. here's the problem ... how do i separate the cable from the receptor that goes into the back of the tranny?

thanks for any insight

i figured it out - i punched it out w/ a small screwdriver from the opposite side. btw - i measured the difference in a new std. manual tranny cable and the one that was on my car - 4 1/2"

guess its time to order an auto cable.
