hey guys, anybody dealt with Speedway recently? i heard from somebody that i had referred to them that they no longer do polishing ... and their heat source for ceramic coating is out. so did their polishers high-tail it across the border when Trump was elected? <not a political comment - just a question>.

if so, i guess we are in need of finding a new company to do specialty metal work.

I just spoke to them on the phone. Their polisher retired, so they send the polishing out, but they still do the ceramic coating in-house.

I was inquiring about refinishing a set of pre-BBS Mahle CSL wheels, and they said chemical stripping is done outside, but they still do wheel painting in-house (and also powder coating).

John, cal McClennan polishing (I think that is how you spell it) in Waltham and see what they can offer you. This is a father and son team, been around since the 60's. They are good at what they do.......I saw a letter on their board from VSR asking about services so.... I used them to polish some of my E9 parts and was happy with them.

McClennan looks like a great place (old school). I wonder if they also ceramic coat? FWIW, I'm thinking of having Speedway restore my 14x7 CSL Mahle wheels. The hard part of wheel refinishing is that everyone media blasts to strip and then powder coats. Hard to find anyone that does chemical stripping and actual painting of wheels.

They send ceramic coating out locally to another person in Waltham that is a friend of the family.
