I am having a few issues getting the front spoiler to fit with the front bumpers.
The issue is the front section, not the sides – when the spoiler is put on, the bottom edge return of the bumper snags against the spoiler.
The questions are…..
  • Is the spoiler original? – if not I may just bin it….
  • Was it made to fit without a front bumper?
  • Are there other spoilers that have been designed so that the front bumper will fit?
  • Do I grind back the bottom edge of my newly chromed bumper so it fits?
Ps..I know the side sections will have to be scalloped cut out to get a good fit.

Regards

Marc

ps this was the car before resto.......

My spoiler (from VSR1) fits fine with pre-73 bumpers but the clearance is indeed small (about 1/4” at the tightest — center area). I think this is the tightest configuration.

Your air dam has to be cut around the bumper bracket rubber gaskets. Scribing the sides is a 2-3 person job to get it correct. The bumper tolerances are very tight fit.

Nicely detailed pics, Andrew. Tells the story well.
I assume that you had to do the same pattern work at the black "gasket" (just in front of the tire) where it meets the quarter...
