I have 2 cars with various noises from the dashboard and central vent board.
Various squeaking noises when the car is driven at low speeds over uneven surfaces.
One `74 car, with its adjustable steering wheel, seems to have a part that touches the bakelite vent outlet behind the windscreen, when the steering wheel is pushed down or up (at any chosen, but locked position).
Before I dismantle the entire dashboard, which I did a few months back when installing newly refurbished instruments, I thought I´d ask the board for any hints or suggestions.
Dashboard noises are also heard when pushing variuos parts with a hand, esp the sides of the central vent console.
