It might be an AMC Javelin. Seriously. Karmann built [at least some of] them. Karmann has an interesting historical website. On this link, click '1961-1970' and the Javelin is right above the 3.0CS:

We had a Javelin (1970?) - not a bad car. American Motors made a big deal in their marketing about dipping the whole body shell into an immersion tank of some rust proofing solution. Do you think Karmann adopted this quaint North American practice?

The factory pictures were mising the original legends. I got them from LegendArchiv in Bavaria.

Did any of these stainless cars survive?
Besides the deloren (spelling) of "back to the future" fame the only other cars I know that were made in stainless were Renault 5's in I believe South Africa in the 70's
