Once upon a time when the starter bushings were going bad in my '70 2002, the dealer guy set me up with a nylon pair from a 320i starter. The ID was a little large so I hacksawed them lengthwise on one side and crammed them in. Worked well as long as I had the car after that. Sadly, totaled one morning but I got my cost from the parts.
