hi,
the starter motor on my car sounds like a 64 chrysler - slow, lame and cheap sounding. ill post a recording of it later today. does yours sound the same? any upgrades that will make it turn over faster/stronger? lets hear some starter motor sounds from a first thing in the morning startup.
thnks,
alanmcg

Well, at least it's not the sound of silence!

Your starter sounds like something's not right.

Battery Condition and ground to engine.

Cable Condition- resistance.( yes, they get old and build up internal corrosion = resistance)

Starter connections- resistance.

Starter Draw- amps/resistance. ( The specs have the correct min. requirements.)

An infrared thermometer helps... resistance = heat.

An last but not least- the starter itself. Brushes, dirty , partialy shorted windings, solenoid contact burned............etc.

I tend to go and clean everything up first.. then start from the battery.
