starting bavaria engine swap/wire set/loom quetions

It is hard to say what the deal is with the Karlyn brand set with the loom. The original Bosch wires are pretty good. If they are truly original they should be stranded copper with wound resistors in the caps. The caps should unscrew from the wires and even the distributor cap ends should unscrew.

On my E3 (same M30 engine) I tried lots of different types of wires but only the stranded copper wires seem to work well. The Karlyn brand wires appear to be similar to the Bosch but who is to say without having them in hand. I will say that "re-looming" is a real pain with the original loom.
