I mentioned in an earlier thread that my State Farm agent informed me that SF would soon be "partnering" with Hagerty. I don't know if that means SF bought them or what, but apparently the marriage has happened. I have SF for the house and newer cars and Hagerty for several older cars. My SF agent recently offered to price my old car coverage directly through him, but apparently still considered to be with Hagerty. I've had SF for 25+ years and he thought that longevity might net me a better rate. (If, in fact, they are now under the same corporate umbrella, I'm not sure why the rates for the same coverage would be different.)
Long story short, he got back to me today. Buying the same coverage directly from him (and SF) would cost me $300 more per year.
Maybe some of you in the insurance biz know more.
