My steering box is leaking and been leaking for years but now it is a big big spot on the garage floor. I bought a used one several years ago. Is this a big job to replace? Can I replace the seals in old and replace units?

Thanks

Keep in mind that the nut on one end of the pitman arm is torqued to about 100lbs and the other end is a very tough joint to remove. That joint is on the center link and is the one joint that is NOT a ball joint. You really don't want damage it as then you have to redo the idler arm and both tie rods...

Good idea if your new box has a pitman arm attached is to remove the big nut while the old box is still installed- use a gearpuller on the arm and you don't have to take a chance damaging the centerlink. You will see 3 alignment marks on the arm and one on the shaft
New box and old everything else is the way to go
