Steering Column Question

I purchased a coupe with a missing steering column.

Does anyone know if the e3 column or any other bmw column is interchangeable with the e9? Or an aftermarket option? As it is beginning to look like more of a racecar project at this point.

You didn't say whether you have a 2800CS or 3.0CS.

Saw this steering column on Ebay, listing says it's from a
1972 2800CS. VIN is 2205938, which I think would make it an early 2800CS.

i have an e3 column here in Australia, (if they fit the e9) but freight would be expensive, even though the exchange rate is in your favor

Go to RealOem, plug in your car, find part number and then cross-reference. All the cars with that number should show and tell you where to look.
