Well guys,

I ordered a lower UJ for the steering column off of ebay and guess I should have known better - another ebay bargain consigned to the shelves! It seems this joint is for a more coarse spline than that on the shaft and box. Where there two different specs? If I order one from W&N how will I know if it is coarse or fine?

Regards,

Rohan

Rohan, hi, I'm convinced there are two specs as I had the same problem as you.

I have a "spare" W&N lower UJ unused as splines did not match. How urgent is your need ... it's with the workshop (assuming not lost!); I'm due to visit in the next couple of weeks. If wanted, yours to try and if it works we can reach an agreement. Tim T

Hi Tim,

its not urgent at all really! Want to get the conversion done this summer though. The splines on the original power box and shaft are both fine it seems and are the same as the RHD manual box I received from W&N. Therefore my thinking is I need a UJ for the standard Power steering set up. The one I have works but is worn and the one I have boguth off of Fleabay is coarse.

If yours is the finer type I'd love to try it and buy it off you.

Regards,

Rohan
