I have been building my garage mahal and now have come to the question of what to do with my collection of bmw and Porsche steering wheels. Does anyone have an idea how I can display them? I only have about 7 or 8. Thanks.

A lot of the wall space is already taken up

@nealf,

I’m going to move this to OT, cleanup your post, and rotate your images. Cool thread! Thanks!

@nealf,

I’m not sure what you have in total. You mention 8 wheels and your pic shows 5 oem wheels. Since those have integrated hubs, I would remove the horn covers and just use a lag screw to drive them straight into a stud. Since the wheels are 13” to 16” in diameter, this will provide the proper spacing as well.

For momo wheels, you can buy round 4” fence post from Home depot. Cut it into 100mm sections. Drill a hole down the center about 70mm. Then drill a small hole the size of the inner diameter of your lag bolts. Sand the post smooth. Spray with two coats of primer. Spray the primer with duplicolor or rustoleum black truck bed spray. Use drywal screws to fasten the wheel to the wood “hub”. Be sure to include your horn mounting ring. Bolt the assembly to your stud. Keep your real hubs for the driver wheels. :)

I wish I could find some sort of display to sit them on propped up so I could put them on top of my cabinets not sure what would work though..some are ratty and maybe not drawing too much attention to them if they were hanging on a wall..thoughts?

Hey nealf, I've been mounting mine on French cleats. There are companies selling small aluminum sections as "Z-clips" for mounting framed art. I posted a quick description here
