Rick, This wheel may be e21, it has no horn contact ring and is fine spline. E28 is coarse spline I think.

E21 used a horn ring also. Coarse spline. E28 was corse spline but switched midway through. This wheel looks like it has provisions for an e9 style horn ring. You can see the two mounting holes.

Markos, this looks like an e21 wheel with fine splines, it does not look like my e12 fine spline wheel. The e21 wheel does not have a removable center pad but looks like the late 2002 wheels which do have a removable center pad, that is my only observation.

I’m just adding noise here. No comment on the wheel. I don’t know what it is. The e21 and the e12 have coarse splines. No comment on the wheel. Also, the e21 doesn’t have a 2002 style horn plunger. Could very well be an e21 wheel. I don’t know.

This is what the back of a factory leather e9 era wheel looks like. The ‘74 one. I’m not sure if this is from an e9 or a 3.3li, but it had the removable pad. Just snapped this pic...

I said it looks like e21 without removable center, not 74 e9 with removable center.

Sorry I was only clarifying this statement. Don’t disagree that it is e21, but the e21 is coarse spline with a horn ring. The ring is clearly missing on this wheel, and I believe it should be present. The ‘74 pic was intended to illustrate that the wheel is definitely not the e9 version. Sorry for the hijack @stphers!
