I just received the sticker set for my (unfederalized) '73 CSi from La Jolla (Carl Nelson). It came with a sketched placement guide, which ain't perfect but it's better than nothing. I've also spent hours on this site and others, pulling down every E9 underhood shot I can find. There appears to have been a well-photographed definitive threaded at one point, but the pictures that were on Photobucket now come up missing.
--Is it true that an unfederalized CSi has no stickers above the VIN plaque? Just the color sticker below it and that's all? Both the placement guide and the photos of federalized CSs show two stickers (vehicle capacity and emissions) above the VIN plaque.
--Does the orange "Genuine BMW Parts" ("Original BMW Telle") sticker go on the right wall of the engine compartment, below the air intake, on an unfederalized CSi? The placement guide and many photos show it there, but I've also seen photos where this sticker is in front of the right shock tower:
