Due to a lot of asking how to, i will write down a how to.
I had a lot of scratches on those covers from the keys and i convert from automatic to stick shift.
So I have to rebuild those structure paint on those covers.
Step by step.
first, remove all paint with paint remover
sand down any deep scratches
sandblast the cover with glasbubbles (don't forget to cover well your column bearing, I remove mine)
primer them with an etch primer and a filler (both 2K I use Standox U3100 and U7580 for that)
than wet in wet, paint it with 2k PUR Strukturlack - MIPA PU 330-20
Use an 2.5 mm nozzle spray gun with very low pressure under 2 bar (20 - 30 psi) need to test it before spray on sheet.
Structure is not as rough as original, but close to them
Hope that will help you guys.
