Very sure my clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel (slave moves as it should.) Is there a way to get it loose w/o removing everything? TIY

Your clutch disc is directly coupled to the trans input shaft by the splines. If you release the pressure from the pressure plate by pushing the clutch pedal while the trans is in gear and then rotate the engine, it should free the disc. You can do this with the starter if the engine is not running.

Tried that, no luck. Will try again, this time I will keep the car from moving…

Doesn't that send massive forces back into the block untill it breaks free? Is that healthy for things like pistons, conrod & bearings, rings etc?
Not really. It's similar dumping the clutch at the start of a drag race, except less. I drag raced a 4-speed car for years and never broke any engine parts.
If the clutch disc is in fact stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate, it's a fibrous disc on a metal surface bonded by what - rust perhaps? The adhesive force can't be that strong.

I'm hoping you get it unstuck and report back.
Oh man, I blocked the rear wheels and let the clutch out 3 times before stalling the engine. No luck. I can’t believe this. Afraid I’m going to have to send her to my mechanic.

That doesn't make sense. If the disk is stuck and the rear wheels are blocked, then the only way you'd be able to start the engine is with the
transmission in neutral and you would grind it to smithereens trying to push it into 1st. So please explain in great detail what you're seeing
and doing with the pedal, gear lever, and starter.

I’m sorry if I missed some details. I started my beautiful coupe one day as usual with the trans in neutral. Tried to engage first gear, Big Crunch, so I knew i had a problem. Brake fluid is fine, slave moves as it should. Shut engine down. Blocked the rear wheels to prevent any movement. Put her in 4th, clutch depressed, turned the key, she wanted to climb the blocks. Tried three times, no luck. The clutch disc is either stuck to the flywheel, or the splines are fused. What do you think?

Did you raise the rear wheels off the ground, start the car in gear, get the wheels spinning rapidly, depress the clutch pedal fully and quickly apply the brakes?
If the splines have rusted to the clutch hub and your pressure plate is releasing the pressure on the disc, the clutch disc should spin as there is no pressure on it.

@bill, I have a transmission jack and clutch alignment tool you can borrow and also a spare (new) pilot bearing that I didn't use when I put my coupe back together. Let me know if you are interested. Also am happy to get dirty if you decide to tackle it yourself.

Well, the clutch disc was pretty solidly stuck to the flywheel. My mechanic, who is braver than me, took her out and worked his magic. Claimed he is able to shift without a clutch by matching RPMs. Finally the disc loosened up. Seems fine now. He says the humidity in NJ this summer was so high, and it was so hot, letting her sit was disaster for the clutch. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! As for me, I avoid rain at all costs, now I need to battle humidity I guess.
