Suggest correct tire and size 4 CS

I've just acquired a nice set of Alpina original 7 & 8 X 16 wheels and am
having some difficulty finding correct size and height tires (appropriate)
50 series...60 series ???Michelin. Pirelli???? Vredestein???
Any suggestions ? Possibly what the nearest correct replacements are these
days?

Here's a link to an excellent tool for comparing tyre sizes to original spec. Simply enter the original specified size for the car (to establish correct speedo reading) and then any tyre you are thinking of using and it will tell you how much variance to original it is:

Do a search its available on this site...but I think most use 205x55 front and 225x50 rear.

Yes, 205/55 front and 225/50 rear are the correct diameter and fit well.

I had 225/50s both front and rear at one point and the sidewalls of the front tires stuck out beyond the fender edges, which looked a little goofy.
