sun visor pivot

Just renewed the sun visor plastic receptacles and sun roof plastic cup, now
I would really need the plastic parts that hold the sun visor pivot. Is there
any source or compatibility with other BMWs for that part? Anybody parting
a car that has these in good shape?
 
Great. Nothing like new plastic, will call him Monday. I was there three weeks ago with Carl but forgot about these parts. Thanks.
 
Charlie, I got the parts from Carl (plastic plus metal stub that goes
into the visor). The part is different than what I had so if I
mount the plastic in place the metal comes out at a different angle (not
horizontal).

Did you have to adjust anything for yours?
 
I did have the same problem. I think I used one of my old metal stubs on the drivers side with the new plastic base. The new set worked on the right. I just had to cut the stub a little to seat in the visor at the proper depth per Carls instructions. I don't know if there is a left and a right. A friend gave me an old set from a 73 that did not work in my 75, the angle was not correct. The compound angle of the base and stub caused some head scratching.

Shawn gave me a set from Carl and while his fit perfectly in the same year CS I had to shorten the metal post by about 1/4" and grind a new bevel on the end. After that they worked great.

On the other end on the clip in the headliner I trimmed down the ramp where the post from the visor clips with and exacto knife so that it would just fit without requiring too much force.
