Aligning the sunoof that was removed to replace broken cables with all metal Volvo 240 cables has become a challenge. The service manual says that the ideal position is for the front edge of the sunroof to be 1 mm below the roof line and the rear about 1 mm higher.
I am attaching a photo taken from the interior of the installed sunroof. Becuase it has been a long time since I took it out, I don't recall the correct orientation of the front brackets. (My brackets are slighlty different than what appears in the service manual). Can someone check my work?
It seems if I have them in this way, the front edge of the sunroof catches on the edge of the aluminum channel, even after adjusting the knurled knobs down as far as I can get them as still have the screws engage in the threads. But when I reverse them, the front edge of sunroof does not come up high enough in the closed positon.
Also, is the guide spring supposed to ride on the roller below the roller or above the roller?
