I don't think I can deal with those Bumpers if I was to buy a CS. Is retrofitting the Original svelte Bumpers strictly a Bolt on? Any unsightly holes left over after?

Tia.

i haven't done it myself, but i know there's a shock absorber that goes thru the sheetmetal ... which is wider than the metal strap that goes thru on the small bumpers. so the conclusion i came up with, when considering a '74, is yes that yes there will be a hole around the strap.

i bought an older car ...

74 to earlier bumpers

Lots of holes to weld up in the rear on a 74 to earlier bumper swap. Mounting brackets for the rear are unique to 73 as they are oval hoops and 72 and earlier are sort of z shaped. Front shock adapters can be bought from Coupeking and slide into original shock mounting holes. You will have three holes on each side , two hidden by bumper swap.

Consider a Euro coupe, '74 and newer. They come with the delicate chrome bumpers.

My 74 CS was carbed before my FI switch. If you can fine a CSi I recommend it highly.
Lots of miles and a dozen + driver's schools and not pause or hiccup or problem.

How do nice Euro cars exist with the typical Climate found there? I am always surprised when you see perfect examples from Holland, etc. Especially since you see some rusty Beaters from the Western US.
A European one sounds nice. Will start scanning German sites and have a look around.

Geez...big bumpers, big deal. It's like looking at Cindy Crawford and seeing only the mole on her face...

mole

What mole? I only saw 'er bumpers. Sorry, too easy.
If you live in a place that you never parallel park, as I do, smaller is better but not cheap done right, as I did. Rather, had done. If I lived in, say, San Francisco or such, and drove it enough to use a bumper as a bumper, I'd go large.
