So I was making an inspection of my car and I noticed that the bolt that holds down the bow that holds the rubber that holds the sway bar is not there . Everything else is. Should I be concerned about bolt strength when replacing this bolt or will and bolt that fits work

I think the original bolt grades are given in parts list like realoem.
8.8, 10.9, 12.4 or such.

I've never heard of these original specs being too weak, so if you follow the original spec, you should be ok.

Your dealer will likely be able to get it for you, as bolts are fairly universal parts in todays bmw's, even the higher grades.

M8 x160 Front
M8 x 180 rear
Both 8.8
As far as I remember

I'd you need, I can verify those figures later this day.

A regular 8.8 M-10 bolt has a maximum tensile load of over 10,000 lbs. I think the weak point is the hook on the front and the little strap part of the frame that it hooks on. One of my little straps ripped so I put a brace made of square tubing between the top of the loop and the frame. It's worked well for many years.
