hi guys, does anyone know the size of the swaybars (or antiroll bars in the uk) on csl's ?

I am considering an upgrade from korman autoworks as follows:

The set consists of a 28mm front and an adjustable 22mm rear swaybar, along with the mounting hardware and bushings. Your cost is $426.10 a set

has anyone else done this ?
is it a worthwhile upgrade ?

any comments appreciated

I believe actually the (non UK) CSL had no roll bars at all. Stiffer springs and shocks instead. At least that´s what I read on one of the Neerpasch-BMW motorsport documents regarding tha differences between the CS and the CSL. "Roll bar delete"

There´s something to be said for not running roll bars. While it feels more "sporty" to have a car that rolls very little, the rolling, in real life, doesn´t really hinder grip and in some instances a car with no roll bars will have better traction. All depends on geometry of course, but certainly a car with a stiff rear roll bar and no LSD will have more traction problems than the same car without rear roll bar.

Goes against common wisedom, I know, but still...

My car is a 1969 2800CS and it has a front anti-roll bar fitted, although I'm just about to swap for a new, uprated one from Carl Nelson at LaJolla in California!
