Tan Leather Seats Over Black Carpets?

Does anyone have this color combo? I've decided to go a non-stock route with my coupe, and am brainstorming color ideas for both interior and exterior. The car was originally agave green with tan interior and terrible brown/tan carpet.

Right now, I'm stuck on the idea of tan leather seats over black carpet, with a black exterior. The car currently has old, wide 14" gold Enkeis, which I'm thinking might look good with the tan inside. I'm just wondering what the tan leather over black carpet might look like. Anyone have photos of such a car?

No pics, but the factory black carpet has tans specs in it. I think it would look great. Also, the coco mats come in Black and Tan also.

the question is where does the black stop and the tan start. for instance - door, side + kick panels - black or tan? since i am in the middle of a shift from tan vinyl to black scheel mann interior i can tell you that the colors work together ... especially with the original peanut butter (tan color). i'm not so sure about the aftermarket GAHH tan leather colors that are lighter. think of the black carpet with black / tan cocomats - either in the traditional or checkerboard.

i have the KHM gray black loop in my black coupe. this all started for me as i was going to mount speaker in the kick panels, and i didn't like the look of black speakers on tan kick panels. i like the black carpet with the black center console. then i got the scheel mann seats and transformed to black door / side panels.

so here is the dilemma. black side panels and tan side arm rests? if i was doing it, i would leave the door / side panels tan with the interior. there are a few contrasting interiors that you should look up. look at deQuincey's beautiful coupe ... he has blue carpet / door panels and light color seats (if i remember correctly). then there is Stan' gr8white with the stunning red interior ... and i think black carpet. (again, i could be remembering this incorrectly ... but i do know i have seen pics of red coupe interiors with black carpet.

Interesting. I'm starting to like the idea of the coco mats. Planning on keeping everything else (door cards, kick panels, rear panels) tan, and then going with black carpets. My wood is shot, so I started milling out some pieces of wood from a nice 100+ year old 8x8 redwood beam that came off my dad's house during the house's remodel. Could be an interesting option, especially since it is a special house to me, and these are special cars.

I gotta say, now that I'm building the car for myself as opposed to ultimately reselling, I'm having much more fun. Yesterday's floor pan welds were far from perfect, but I can live with them

Nice

Very cool on the redwood great idea
itsnt it interesting that every single coupe is aone ofa kind

What about tan leather with tan carpet? And a Bristol single stage paint exterior.

The Porsche 928 GTS that I sold a year ago was black with black carpets and side panels (and black seats when I bought it). I changed the seats to Porsche Cork - which is a tan - and the results were excellent. Lots of nice comments on the combination.

The '74 CS that I bought to replace the GTS was 'nearly' Garnet red with grey leather and carpets. I changed the carpet to OE black (actually black and grey), and all the leather will be a tan - Mercedes Bamboo. The shelf behind the rear seats is black and of course the headliner is white. I dyed the side panels, to this color and had the front and rear seats re-upholstered. Everything is done now, except the front seats which are due back within a week or two.

I really like the combination. But - remember, beauty is in the EYE of the beholder!

James, if you would like a picture of the back seats with the OE black carpet & black shelf covering, send me a PM with your e-mail address.

My 72 Taiga CSI has tan (saddle) leather seats and tan panels. I never liked the original brown carpet so I recently replaced it with solid black (no grey speckles) from Gahh. I also have the black and tan coco matts in the front. I will take some pics.

Removed coco matt from passenger side. Door sills are also removed as I was going to finally install my new door seals over the 4th but went to the beach instead since there are still a few weekends left before I hit the road to Monterey. No tucks in the seats (maybe someday) but to be honest the tucks in the original leather seats were barely visible and nothing like some of the wonderful re-upolstered seats I've seen posted.
