I just returned yesterday from a very cool drive over three days from Thousand Oaks to Paso Robles to Carmel and back to Paso over some very rural and twisty roads that I didn't know existed. It is organized by a bunch of Porsche guys but is limited to `75 and older vintage cars. Half of the 110 entrants were Porsches but there were Alfas, 240 Zs, 5 2002s, my coupe, a 59 MG Magnette sedan, one Vette and a few others. It rained Thurs afternoon and all day Friday so the coupe got very wet and dirty and a bit abused too but there was no traffic and the scenery was beautiful. Anyone out west should consider doing this next year, you meet a lot of nice people and see some great cars. The Porsche owners are mostly RGruppe folks so they drive incredibly fast but you do it at your own pace. One of them went off the road on a fairly open stretch of road and it rolled causing considerable damage, he had a roll cage and was unhurt but the 911 looks totaled. I'll include a few photos but not the 911 to respect his privacy.

beautiful

Those are my favorite events. Such beautiful scenery. How's your car? Any worse for the wear?

Hi Chris,
Nice photos - makes me really miss the west coast.
I saw on another forum that there was a CSL at some point, did he not make it out for the full Targa?

Jeff Tighe brought Carl Nelson's Bat but I didnt see it on the drives. My coupe has a few chips and such as there was so much mud and dirt on the roads.

Oops, yep, I'll fix it! We had a ton of rain Thur night and Friday, even snow on the Coast Range, there was debris from runoff everywhere.

WOw, just not fair where you West coasters get to drive. That Boulder looks menacing. Your Coupe looks great and the wheels with the Black in the recess really suit the coastal environment! Must have been fun.

thx for the pix

Good pictures, thanks for sharing...Since we live next to the oldest mtns in the world in western NC, I am reminded of a CA friend of mine here that says that, geologically speaking, CA is still under construction... Or as the signs here say, "Watch for fallen rock"...

Thx for sharing!

Them P-car folk are usually some 'fast movers'.

Rally on!
;-)

Stunning views!... could be hazardous if one is LOOKING at the stunning view and did not notice that large stone in the road!!

Targa

Your car is Beautiful! When I was in high school a friends mom had a coupe a lot like yours, one ride and I was hooked! Thanks for the Pictures.

John,

Yes, coming down to Hwy 1. That was the only 20 minutes of blue sky I had on Friday and saw only two cars on that stretch.
