The 3200 CS was the first BMW to feature the iconic “Hofmeister kink” in its design

While the Bertone 3200CS was the first BMW to sport the Hofmeister kink, it was a design feature Bertone used in several cars in the early 1960s. I think had BMW not continued to use this design feature consistently, it would be thought of as a Bertone feature rather than a BMW feature.

700 LS has a very subtle lower C pillar return which became more pronounced with the advent of the NKs & 3200CS in 1963.

Here is a 1949 Buick Super Sedanette.

The NK 1500 debuted at the same show and also has the kink so there is no one model that can claim that distinction.
Chris - was that a Bertone design, or had Marchelotti left Bertone and started his own studio before becoming involved with the NK?
