just finished watching the final grand tour from Clarkson, Hammond + May. they drove across Zimbabwe. gotta love the car choices - Clarkson drove a Lancia Montecarlo, Hammond a series 1 Capri and May drove a Triumph Stag. worth a watch for old time sake. i have always wanted a Montecarlo / Beta Scorpion (US version) and i had a friend in high school that had a Stag and another who had a Capri.

I’ve never watched that show but that’s enough to get me to start. I’ve only driven a tiny piece of Zimbabwe and Botswana (basically from Kazungula to Victoria Falls) but more extensively in Zambia and Malawi so I know something about what it’s like and it’s a bit of an adventure even in a normal car.

The Grand Tour and the old BBC "Top Gear" with the three presenters (Clarkson, May & Hammond) are both a ton of fun.

Yeah, I got hooked when they played that game where they launched cars with an air cannon into a quarry and tried to hit a bulls eye. It reminded me of a far more elaborate version of the stupid stuff my friends and I made up and played before we discovered girls.

i loved the original Top Gear shows and watched them regularly on BBC America until it went off the air. most of the reboots, even the UK version with different presenters never were near as good. the Grand Tour has had its moments, but not quite as good as the original

From the early years on, it’s the best car show ever made. They do some crazy shit, drive some awesome cars in awesome places and You got a love Clarkson’s humor.
apparently the liberals at the BBC did not.

The last couple of years of Top Gear (with these guys) was not what it was earlier - I think they were starting to run out of new ideas and rehash some of the older skits even before they started on Amazon.

They were (and are still) funny and worth watching IMO - just that their older shows were just a bit better than the later ones. Again just my thought....

One thing - I have been watching car shows on TV for decades. These guys are the only ones that my wife actually enjoys seeing (rather than 'put up with' when I have a car show on).

My partner isn't quite up to watching shows like that with me (though perhaps I should start one before 9 PM to see if she'd actually try...) I think Clarkson as a person is a twatwaffle, but he's very entertaining as a host and very good at what he does. Clarkson was forced out of his Top Gear position because he physically assaulted someone, and he's lucky that he got off as lightly as he did. I'm not sure what the supposed "liberals" at the BBC have to do with it.

Just talked about the Clarkson, Hammond, May Top Gear "Super Cars as Real World Daily Drivers" & Clarkson's Mercedes 600 SWB vs May's Park Ward Bentley namely the drag race.

You can’t have never watched the show and have an opinion. I love Jeremy Clarkson, his humor is remarkably subtle, reminds me of what the world was before political correctness. Now he is worth $70 million so he must be doing something right. Both my wife and I would crack up at everything he said, especially when he was in France.

Huh? Yes, I can have an opinion on Jeremy Clarkson. I’m only mid-watch on my first Grand Tour but I’ve seen plenty of Top Gear.
