I had forgotten how much I love chrome. I know I should finish up the repairs of the melted light socket and concentrate on the reliability stuff on my newly acquired car (change the belts and hoses) but I go near my car and I can't help it. I pull out the fine steel wool, followed up with some NeverDull and another little piece of the car just pops!

Steel wool will leave fibers that rust almost instantly. Use Bronze wool, Home Depot has it online, can't find it locally here anymore, but it won't rust. Be careful, you are actually removing the chrome which is clear if used aggressively. A gentle polish is best followed by a good coat of wax.
