Introduced today, the BMW 8 series concept.

It is clearly labeled a concept but since this is the second generation of "concept" after the Pininfarina version of 2 years ago, I would imagine it is not too far from what the production version will look like.

Personally, I think it is quite tasty. Van Hooydonk clearly likes the Aston Martin profile (and with good reason), but it is still very unique and sharky.

Think I stick to the E9. I really don't like the look or the proportions of this car. I'm also to old for its play station like digital dash. BMW build its best cars many decades ago, now certainly here in Belgium (number one selling brand) it's the new Volkswagen.;)

Too angular, the front grill is way too pronounced, phony aero elements both front and rear are overdone, scalloped doors break up the side view, beltline is too high, and there are no lines that flow the entire length of the car. Yuck.

I like it overall. The "jaws" teeth in the upper portion of the kidney grills are not necessary. I've never cared for a Maserati's grill... way too big and busy. Lots of concept elements likely won't make the street, but I think it sets itself apart from the others in-class.... For me, a new Maserati, Jaguar, and Aston all share similar front ends, I like that BMW will be easier to discern.

Now... I want to see it in full M, or Alpina trim... or done up in Motorsport Art Car livery :)

I'd need to sell of some body parts to afford it, but it's cool.

Markos, your photo was the first thing that popped into my e9 frontal lobe. Then my daughter's braces. Next, the Great White from Jaws. Then a Hyundai Tiburon. Even concept cars are becoming generic.
