some will immedatly think about the early 169 carburetted csls

but look at the production list

there were ONLY two, 2, 3.0 CSiA (i assume LHD)

....rare of the rarest
 
Interesting to note that despite being built in November 73, the vin on mine ends in 0072 despite 69 only having been built in that year
 
Other quite rare E9s, though perhaps not factory designations:

- CSE (electric)
- Stainless Steel E9 (I think 3 were made)
- Calder E9 Art car
 
Have we seen any of the three stainless cars? I seem to recall one was knows to have been wrecked and another was missing in action?
 
I had a chance to look at one of them closely about 3years ago in a private collection of BMW's in Germany. All the panels are stainless and there is no rust on any part at all. Very beautiful!
