I bought a '73 CS parts car on Sunday and picking it up tomorrow morning. Chassis is to far gone to save, unless you're Malc, but it has lots of performance parts and trim pieces that I need. Hardy & Beck 10.1:1 engine, duel 38/38 Webers, Hardy & Beck lowering springs, sway bars, Bilstein shocks, good rearend, which I need, very nice front and rear bumpers and all the trim on the car is in really good shape, including the C-pillar roundels. The info is from the current owner, but the car does sit lower and the sway bars are larger than stock. I'll hear the engine run as we load it up on the trailer. It also has some BBS-style 16's that look really cool, but I don't know what they are yet. I'll be cutting up the car and keeping the good sheet metal pieces. I'll probably make a webpage with pictures in case anyone needs any sheet metal. Not planning on selling anything else yet! 8)

Coupeitis

Malc is correct. Modern advances in medicine have determined that the e9 slow virus (a prion disease) is responsible for the malady coupeitis (alternative spelling coupitis). The good news is that as a slow virus (e.g. like mad cow disease) it progresses slowly with a long latent period (this allows you to work on said basket case coupe for many years). The bad news is that there is no effective treatment. It affects the brain diffusely - regions that show the greatest involvement are the frontal lobes (impairing judgment) as well as the temporal lobe (loss of memory of previous large expenditures). Frontal lobe involvement can also produce the characteristic frontal lobe syndrome of inappropriate smiling and laughter (in response to situations that are not humorous) or crying. At times bipolar symptoms (manic behavior with inappropriate expenditures of money or depression) are seen and can be treated symptomatically but this does not alter the natural disease progression. Language and motor function are not involved significantly. Affected individuals may appear normal and be gainfully employed but may at other times neglect family or personal appearance.

Unfortunately the pharmaceutical industry is not motivated to address this important unmet need because of the relatively small number of people affected - estimated yearly cost of the medication alone (were it to be developed) would be about the same as a pristine CSL. The only hope for therapeutic advances is if the e9 virus can be demonstrated to be associated with other forms of dementia. The e9 virus is related to the e24 virus (which is much less virulent).

Support groups (e9 coupe.com) are available for affected individuals and their family members.

For the love of God Dan! Please don't cut it up!!! You must save them all!!!! My parts car is long gone, but the guilt is overwhelming at times! There is no hope for me, but you still have a chance!

After I take everything I need I'll see if anyone wants the shell before it gets crushed. I've seen worse, but it ain't pretty. I moved it to the yard today and will take some pictures soon.

BTW, anyone ever heard of Ceres wheels? It has some nice 16x7 (ET11) basketweaves with painted centered and polished rims (classic style with open lugs). No curb rash at all. They also look to be hub centric. Any ideas?

This must've been the one on Craig's List in Sacto. $1000? I am still looking for a front bumper and mounts. At this point, I would even take a bent one and just plan on spending some time at the chrome shop. Have one available? Any way to contact you directly on this? [email protected] Thanks, I have a list of pieces and parts....
