The Vintage was great!
Speaking from a West Coast perspective, this event is first class and at least up there with Monterey gathering and October Woodley event (which brings back fond memories chatting with Murray in our lawn chairs!).
Anyway, my new best E9 friends, Doug and Stan, were there. The former is new to this forum, I think, with his Korman modified, M5-powered Tundra green CS and Stan, who you all know, with this Coupe King White/Red CS.
There were about 12 - 14 coupes there that I counted and we stood out from the 2002 crowd in my view. But many nice M5s and M6s, 320iS models but not a single M1 that I could find.
Here are some photos and I hope the fuller crowd of E9 folks back east can make this next year. The best part is the evening before event of washing our cars and talking E9 shop with other owners and passers-by; some beer drinking was involved if I recall. X-Atlas and a few others who have helped me over the years I was looking for but couldn't find.
My car, which doesn't have a name but needed one for the entry form, is called from this point forward, Blue Belle. Luckily I got 5th place in the people's choice award but I'm not sure how many of the 302 cars there were entered.
In total 868 miles driven averaging 21.5 mpg. Before Megasquirt, I was lucky to hit 17 - 19 mpg and with much less horsepower.
Thanks to SF Don for a motor that purrs and roars but doesn't let me down, even on long drives like this one.
