Had the pleasure of removing the original thermostat housing, and cover from my Coupe today. Interesting that the replacement housing has all kinds of sensor connections on the top and I guess I’ll have to plug with brass fittings of some kind. I ordered them from ECS Tuning.

OK, so I’m trying to understand what you’re telling me. There is the thermostat cover that goes on the front of the thermostat housing and you’re saying that that cover should be different from the original style? I ordered both from ECP Tuning. Are you saying that these two parts I ordered will not work together? Are you talking about the actual thermostat itself?

Don will chime in. I am saying there are two versions of the thermostat housing (old and new). This also goes for the thermostat. You need to ensure you have right thermostat for right housing or it wont work properly. Make sense?

Yup. more info (pic's, comparison, the 'why' behind it) here:

Thanks for advising me of this! The new thermosstat I have is the old style, longer one. Hos may I know if I am buying newer style thermostat, is there a part number? I have the new housing and cover already, and confirmed that the thermostat in my posession does not fit (too long).
