Thinking of selling my Coupe drive it very seldom

Looking for advice from the forum on selling. The serial number makes it a very early 1973 which front bumper wise I converted to 1972. Installed a 3.5 L with dual 38 mm Weber and a five speed. Have all the original mechanical parts to convert back to 3L 4 speed. This car runs great its very quick handles well. Body is B++ no rust anywhere stored on garage hoist YOY heated garage. I completely rebuilt and refurbished the entire vehicle just added new frt and rear calipers.

Preferably this car I've owned for over 40 years should go to a real enthusiast I have all the receipts for the thousands of parts what do you all think?

Well, sounds like from the comments on the BaT auctions that anyone who sells one inevitably regrets it, but if you really aren't driving it and/or need the money and space for some other vehicle, you'll probably have the biggest visibility selling it on BaT. The quality of the pictures clearly matter, I think that spending $1000 to get some professional photos will more than pay itself back. You also clearly know the spots that are the "problem areas" for these vehicles and the more you can do to address those up front, the higher the likely return. I would also recommend selling at a time that you are going to be able to be near the car and available for questions. I see some auctions where potential buyers are asking about the vehicle and the response is "I'm out of town so can't access my email and can't access the car right now". That's just sloppy.

Good advice E9L. How about sharing some more details like Int/Ext colors and a few pics? We are happy to share our thoughts with you. The knowledge base depth of this crew is amazing! And who knows, maybe there is a member here who has been looking for a car and will be smitten with yours!

The car is in my garage years ago I address all the rust issues by replacing a lot of sheet metal most back then purchased direct in Germany. Frankly the whole front end and most of the rear is brand new, rockers were not too bad so they were handled and remain solid. From a typical E9 owner view the contentious concerns have been handled. There are probably a dozen small dings in the paint I've repaired and maybe two small dents.
Thank you for the advice is there a price RANGE that these are currently selling for?

lets start with color (original color / current color) - that always has a factor. next question, what kind / size wheels are on the car? how about steering wheel (original / petri / nardi / other)? what color / condition is the interior - vinyl, cloth or leather? original seats or recaro / scheel / other? any cracks on the dash / what condition is the wood in?

i have to agree with @e9Leveque, great pictures makes a world of difference. posting here might get you a reasonable price / quicker sale to an enthusiast. BaT is a crapshoot as mentioned above, if you are thorough / and stay tuned to the auction with quick + good responses it will turn out better.

posting pics here will get you information from great owners / sellers as well as people who have bought recently. otherwise we can tell you it might be between 40k and 85k as its a total guess.

Agree 100% with the above. Pro Photos, about 200-250 seems reasonable. If there are any "flaws" whatever get them up front with a full explanation. BaT will post
BaTSpeak with some generic photos. Have a full history, receipts, ready to go. Buyers love stories. Be present and answer questions quickly and thoroughly. If you don't know the answer say so and find it.

The last day and half are crucial. Look constantly and respond! Add photos and videos as you go along, as there are alerts when you do. Ask here about your reserve, have a number ready for BaT. Chances are you will have to negotiate.

Some of the guys on here are well known for their Coupe expertise. Buyers may recognize names like rsporsche and HBChris and SFDon. When I sold my pristine, all original low-mileage 1976 2002 a couple of years ago there were 137 comments, many quite helpful in clarifying questions. And some of their comments were positive enough about me and Lilli I got a little emotional.

Sad to see you considering selling John.

I've seen this car in person and was taken for a "spirited" drive a few years ago. Felt like a well sorted car.

Maximizing dollar has already been explained and I agree there if that is priority.
If finding (and possibly selecting) your buyer is a priority then I feel this group is the best spot to make that happen.
