This is why BMW is selling their 3.0 CSL + M1 museum cars

BMW classic bought the last bat!?

More and more rumours says that BMW Classic has bought the last produced 3.0 CSL Bat (4355057). As said before, that might be another reason why BMW is selling their current bat at the upcoming Auction in Dubai.

Cheers

Non original color...

It will be interesting to see how the market values a real Bat from BMW's own corral that is not wearing its original color. Does BMW get a pass?

I'm not sure. Paints are very different today compared to the original paint, but at the same time, I know of very few coupes retaining their original paint. Depending on the resources BMW put into the project, it could be as factory a paint change as you can get.

Hmmm

BMW sales in this region up 13% for the first half of this year..... BMW introduces 7 new models in this region... Number one BMW .. 7 series. ( What they didn't say was that it was the result of 1 showin Feb. primarily- madmen at thier finest) Wonder how many supercars sold too? 1000hp Shelby...

If form follows function and the prices paid in the first quarter for collector cars in Dubai " far exceeded" expectatons then it could be that they expect the same to happen.

As in the past... he who wins races on Sunday ( sells CSL and M1) means sales on Monday equates to BMW betting on it to happen.

As far as paint- " BMW concours restoration" in thier words.... my feeling is that carries as much weight and anyone who takes the time and spends the money .... it should count for something.

My 02 cents

P.S. I also think it's good for us... any owner of an e9.. may mine sit in my garage awaiting more blue roads as Murray says. I wanna have fun.

Bmw

If BMW was smart they would start a reproduction of the E9 that has now become an icon. If was in charge of Ford, there would now be exact reproductions of both the 1965 Mustang, and the 1969 BOSS Mustangs, though the newer retro cars fit the bill they will never have that classic feel...!

If BMW stepped up the Mobile Tradition team, I do wonder if they could release a certain number of "new" cars a year, like they did with the "new" 2002tii from a few years back. It would be interesting to see how much they would want for a new E9 today.
