Hey guys,

So a year ago I wanted to convert from my manual sunroof to electric. You guys sent me the list of parts (tubes, gear unit, motor, etc).

It all worked fine but the old Porsche -style unit seemed to struggle and ultimately the rubber drive link tube literally melted- as if exposure to air caused it to disintegrate.

Then Jeff brings his car in for an EV conversion and I see HIS 1975 motor. A whole different unit I hadn’t seen before, and a rubber drive connector that won’t melt.

But I can’t seem to find one of these. It looks factory like BMW switched to these the last year, and the mounting bolts are completely different. His sunroof drives strong and I WANT IT.

Anyone know where to send me to find one? Is it from another BMW?

Thanks all!

Hi Jet,
This one seems to be what you are looking for, pretty pricy though.
The seller is very well known in the instrument repair service and says it’s be checked/ working and mails ww.
There are a few others available although not as complete as this one and not much cheaper, under Ebay.de/ Schiebedach motor

or this one, has the bracket too
