A friend just bought one 2 weeks ago, so far he really likes it.
Suffered through an X5
We had a 2007 non diesel six cylinder x5, and once the warranty expired, ugh. Air suspension failed, AC failed, aluminum bolts on water pump or alternator shattered and took out fan and radiator, etc etc. the money and time involved to repair was a huge PITA. We traded it in with about 70k miles.
They are built like tanks, and drive well and have an optional third row, but only buy one with a warranty for as long as you tend to own it.
A factory mechanic also told me that the ad blue is pretty caustic stuff and May course trouble by eating through the tank and lines that hold it.
