As the title says. I have no speakers there, shelf is new with new foam. My sense is that it is not needed but if anyone has a strong counter opinion, I am open.
Thoughts on Xmat under the Hat Shelf

I put it on the trunk bulkhead and hat shelf.
my painter is going to spray mine with the acoustical insulation coating. if he forgets, i will xmat it. definitely need the acoustical attenuation from the trunk drum. we are coating the floor as well ... but perhaps its better to just do the bulkhead and the hat shelf ... maybe all 3 would work the best. the downside is the tire well and surround won't be shiny ... but they are under the wood covers. thoughts?
Don’t spray in trunk under floor boards, it needs to look original. OCCoupe sprayed everywhere inside cabin.

Sounds like a yes then. Trunk is totally original. Xmat the entire cabin then dynamat foam is my plan.
