The only reason I'm looking at this one is that it's close by and it's an '85 which means it may have the correct 5 speed trans? I spoke to the owner who seems to know quite a bit about British cars but is not a BMW enthusiast. Seats are full leather and brand new, just out of the box and I don't know about the claims that it's an European version or whatever or the HP, but thought I would see what people think about possibly salvaging 1500 worth of parts from the thing?

Dangit, I hate (and love) that I have too many cars already!

If it has a 265 trans, looks like a steal, heck, I think I would get it and just have as a cool beater.

That said, I don't think that car came with a 265 5 speed but no doubt somebody on the forum will have a definitive answer.
 
I missed the point that it has a 6 cylinder...maybe it does have the right trans. Only real way to be sure is for him to send a pic of the trans and look for the characteristic 3 section unit + bell housing (4 total).
