Hi all,

is there a way to adjust the position of the Throttle Valve Switch on a D-Jetronic system without the Bosch Tester / Control Unit?

Thanks in advance

Yes. A simple voltmeter or even a simple light bulb setup will do, if you know how. There are explanations of how to do it around, but I can´t seem to find one currently. My D-Jet days have been over for a while (ask me bout webers and zeniths though... :) )
A tip tough: The procedure is time consuming so you don´t want to do it twice. So start out with a new switch. They´re available and not overly costly.

D-jet

Here is what I do: Ignition on, engine off. Move the sensor until you hear an audible click. Tighten here. This is shade tree for sure, but I have never had to move it more than a mm either way after this adjustment is made. Put a scribe mark at this point. You should hear the click again with a .020'' feeler inserted at the stop screw. No click with a .014'' You can check it again w/an ohmmeter if you so desire, I have never found the need. For D-jet, I often refer to Haynes Manual #129 Volvo 140 series. More info than the E3 manual. D-jet or "dinosaur" Still Toyota copied and improved this system. The new Toyota EFI introduced in the early '80's Technology that was now over a decade old. I can fax you the Volvo pages pages if you wish. Same same. Oh, and no click = dead sensor.
