Tire recommendations

I know this is an annual question but in the hope that something new is out there I'm looking to buy a new set summer performance tires so two questions:

Absolute best if cost no object.

Bang for the buck - best value for the least cost.

Criteria - assume dry driving and occasional track hot laps - not races.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports

Just bought Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/45/17's to mount on my Style 5's. I also have these on my '07 Z4 coupe and love them. Got them on Tire Rack for about $160 each plus $70 rebate when you buy a set. These tires are hard to beat for the price.
