I realize that the passion of collectors is not necessarily a rational thing, and that whatever floats your boat might not do the same for me and vice versa. Keeping that in mind, there are times that I'm still SHOCKED by the prices that some things fetch. Case in point, the below BAT auction item. I had no idea there was a passionate minibike collectors market out there. And now that I know there is one, I still have no idea why. But hey, not my place to judge - I'm into cars that are allergic to rain. GLWTA as the old farts say, and have fun!

Speaking of colors, check out this collection of Honda CT70s that landed on BaT the other day. A couple of colors that I hadn't seen before. I kinda get why these bring so much money, many of us wanted one as a kid and can finally afford them now. That's what happened with me, I wanted one since I was 8 and finally got one at 58. My father in law has a 1970 CT50 that he bought new, it is in perfect condition - I don't think he believed me when I told him what it is worth.

I once had a Honda Monkey as well, how I wish I didn't sell it. (picture isn't great, but it's the only one I have)

In Poland in the 1980s, every kid dreamed at night about Motorynka...
Today, original ones in good condition can cost 2-3 thousand Euro or more.
The wind in your hair and mosquitoes or flies in your teeth was an unforgettable experience in those days.

the only problem between wanting one as a kid and now ... trying to fit our 'super-sized' self on such a small bike.

I think that when our current self sits on this little motorbike, we automatically have a big smile on our faces and our thoughts go back to those carefree childhood times.
For the feeling of this moment, it is priceless.

Oh boy, I wanted a Honda 70 when I was a kid. Parents were not motorcycle fans so that didnt happen. The colors remind me of the great color palette that BMW had in the 70's!
