I am attempting to obtain missing tools for my tool kit. I notice that apparently the cs and csi differ in tool placement, and the csi appears to have less number of tools?? Which pliars goes in the csi kit- th ecombination or the water pump pliars? Also, which wrenches (only space for three) - the open end or closed end? What is placed directly beside (to the right) of the spark plugs? What is the further most tool to the left (looks like a three inch hat pin in shape)?
Thanks
Randy

Randy,

Carl Nelson has all tool kit parts available. Prices are not cheap-- especially for the red handled screwdrivers ($100 a pc.). Also, I think that the CS and CSi kits are the same. The difference in coupe toolboxes is in the age. The post '73.5 cars (last two years of Coupe production) have a different "clam shell" toolbox design with the latter toolbox not having the foam bottom with molds for the tools to fit into...

Hope this helps,
Jonathan

Thanks

Oh, its the MY that creates the difference. i ended up ordering several tools from Bavarian Autosports and also ordered the insulation piece and the foam container. Should work out.

Tool box--different with fewer tools?

whether cs or csi had same tool box and same tool assortment--if your tool box holds fewer tools you may have the wrong box in your Coupe--see an earlier post that shows a nearly correct arrangement in the trunk of the red Coupe on the 36 year thread--correct except for touch up paint instead of connecter for spark-plug and a red mechanics rag (perhaps to match the color of paint) instead of the blue flannel one with the BMW logo--a rather scarce and desirable item for coupesters.
