Long shot but does anyone have reasonably price trailer? I live in the San Fransisco Bay Area and my Son wants one to get his race car to the track. Would be will to road trip for the right deal

Just a suggestion, but the car carrier trailer U-Haul rents is nice. They are about $50/day. You don't have to store it or maintain it.

For the last ten years I had rented a uhaul open cargo trailer about once a month. If you go to a solid dealer and acquaint yourself with the process, you can be in and out of there in next to no time. It helps if you don’t use a large corporate facility. Granted I spent like $4K in ten years, but it is a $10K trailer. I’ve since bought a rinky dink utility trailer that paid for itself, but Uhaul is a great option.

Calculate how many race days you will have, storage, tires, bearings, registration, risk of theft. Don’t forget personal liability. As @Dick Steinkamp suggested, I bet a rental makes a lot of sense.

Thanks. He wants to rent it as a side hustle but I agree u-haul is awesome

Unless he can go through something like Turo, I wouldn’t take on the risk. If you drive on the interstate you will see that most people with trailers drive too fast. Many people who tow don’t know how to stop trailer sway. I have a very long driveway and know that most people can’t back up strait with their car, and people are even worse at backing trailers.
