I find while driving my coupe its sometimes difficult to shift gears into 1st gear .is that normal ?

I've put less than 100 miles on my '73 and so I chalk it up to new driver learning curve.

Larry,
I am no expert, but if you are finding that shifting gets tougher and difficult to find the gear you are looking for, you may need a new clutch soon. Check the fluid reservoir to see if the levels are correct or being depleted as well.

Right. The first thing I would is bleed and adjust the clutch. If the clutch isn't disengaging the transmission from the engine all the way - then it won't go into first.
