Traveling with a LSD rear end

Bought above contraption, alas it weighs 80Lbs. dry.

In order to make a suitable (2)small crates (boxes) to fit in my luggage, I have to divide the LSD into 2 sections:

1. The two output flanges (how to remove, I know, the 2 bolts, holding one vs. other?) require to be removed and then the outer cover.
That ought to lessen the weight some.

2. Will the crownwheel come out, without disturbing any preloads, etc.? That will definitely lessen the weight. pinion will remain in the housing.

As such, 1 section in one box and 1 duffel bag, the other section in the other duffel bag.

effectivement tu peux séparer les 2 tulipes, le couvercle et enlever le boitier de différentiel. bien repérer les cales éventuellement présentent.
Yes, you can separate the two tulips, the cover, and remove the differential housing. Make sure to note any shims that may be present.
