Winter is here, time to shine things up,but wondering which bits are chrome, anodized or plain aluminum?I know the belt trim is anodized but how about the center grill, headlight grill surround, front turn signal and side marker lights, rear window recessed trim and roof drip edge?It looks like the headlight trim rings are chrome as are the bumpers(duh) and all window trim, including piece on top of door glass plus tailight surround? What about windshield trim?Rear trim piece between tailights?Hate to polish the coating off something or waste time using the wrong polish. Also any suggestions on best polishes to use on specific finishes?

Aluminum: front and rear windshield trim, drip gutters, trim around headlight grilles, kidney grille, belt trim, panel between tail lights unless earlier 2800 which is chrome

Chrome: tail light frames, bumpers, front vent windows and window frames, door handles, door window sills and rear quarter window sills

I thought chrome on top of door window glass wasn't chrome but not sure

I probably forgot something, others will chime in.

Metal types--simichrome works well on all--

Wrapping up:
Top of driver/passenger window trim is anodized aluminum--all models
Trim piece between tailights is either anodized (from 72-74) and more desirable chromed brass on 70-late 71
Roundels are cloisonne in early models surrounds are die cast chrome in early models changing during 72 model to you guessed it--anodized raised letter painted alum. with surrounds in anodized alum.
Head lamp rings are stainless steel in all years--not chrome

Anodized aluminum--damaged

So far as I have experiencd in the use of Simichrome--a paste and non-abrasive--that product has been safe with no damage resulting to date--but can't speak for ALL metal polishes.
