Trunk/boot treatments

My gas tank is out along with all the plastic lining, etc, so I'm thinking of painting the trunk area with something.

Has anyone used a specialized coating (I'm thinking truck bed lining or a rubberized undercoating).

I'd love to hear recomendations and experiences before I jump on this one.

No, no, no...
Should be painted the same color as the car.
And don't paint the engine compartment black either.
