trunk caddy location

Had some reupholstery work done in my trunk, including dye on the caddy. Mine has been floating around back there since I have the coupe. Where exactly is the caddy attached? I have seen some pics of it just in front of the gas filler neck. Does it belong there? and is it simply screwed down with two screws?

Trunk Caddy

You have the location correct--they were originally simply wedged in that spot--original carpet was cut out around base and seamed around caddy base that helped hold it in place--with spirited driving they would slide around, however.

I've seen the two $screws in the bottom in several Coupes--also in E-3's--a crude but effective fix--and others with velcro on the back side of the caddy that connected it to an attaching piece stuck to the elephant skin on the inside of rear fender area just ahead of gas filler tube--also effective without damaging trunk boards--and works nicely so long as the velcro adhesive lasts.

I noticed two screw holes in the bottom of the caddy. I will try to get some pics for the reasons we discussed.

I have the two screws as well and cut a piece of elephant skin vinyl to cover the bottom of the caddy.

Good idea!. May give that a try (if I have any remaining elephant skin). I forgot to check with the upholstery shop (I supplied it).
