Trunk lid chrome?

Is that a chrome finishing strip on the lip of the trunk.... I have not seen one like this before.

Wayne, that is the pot metal trim strip that was used on the 2800 sedans

IMO it still doesn’t look right or even any better. IMO if it was so important to leave the molding off the deck lid they should have ended the body side moldings at the rear corners of the car with spear tips. The way BMW did it makes it look like it had a rear molding but it fell off the car :shock:. ~ John Buchtenkirch

I agree with John, but I am so accustomed to seen the lip bare a full or partial chrome strip looks odd. My brain has been trained.

Of course it is not "right" or "better" its a goofy-looking trim strip that was goofy-looking when mounted on the sedans and if even goofier-looking on a coupe. Now why is it the default when I post here automatically subscribes to the thread?
